How to take care of bamboo?

Hi, I bought a "lucky bamboo" several years ago. It is still in the tiny little pot it came it, with rocks and water. It has been growing fine but lately the bottom leaves have started to yellow and it doesn't look too good. Should I fertilize it? Would miracle grow work? Should I put it in a bigger pot? Thanks!
