Do you think New Yorkers truly deserve to have a Space Shuttle?

I find it ludicrous to learn that New York is going to get the Space Shuttle when it was never involved in the NASA program. Los Angeles, on the other hand, really deserved it because most of the facilities that manufactured the shuttles were based there. But New York??? I feel that Houston deserves to get their shuttle.
