Why is no one "really" addressing this employment problem?

Your problem is not the one employers care about. It's a buyer's market right now, and their problem is choosing people out of a pool ranging from dozens to thousands of applicants. If job seekers were sorted by first impressions, the HR people would be wasting their time interviewing too many airheads with good posture and angelic voices. So cold, ugly data is the way to go.
